In 2006, Masote made his conducting debut in a concert of the music of Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Todd Matshikiza. He has went on to conduct and work alongside Kwesta, Khuli Chana, Kabomo, Maleh, Lira and Sibongile Khumalo. His twenty-five years as a professional classical music practitioner, combined with his radio experience, have shaped his trademark informative classical music presentations. Recently, he has been working on music scoring for an upcoming documentary called The Arch.
