If you've ever gone into business for yourself then you know how many facets there are to consider. There's compliance, marketing, operations, customer service, sales, and of course, finance, among other things, to consider. If you try to do it all alone, it can all fall apart rather quickly and unharmoniously fail. Some great advice from Sabrina Houser, of Capital CFO, is a good starting point to understand how to get it all done. Well done!

This week I had the honor of interviewing Jean-Remy Monnay of The Black Theatre Troupe of Upstate NY. He started his journey in acting in his home country of Haiti. When he came to NY in the early 80's he could barely speak English and couldn't find roles for black actors in community theater. Despite the odds, he learned the language, made the right connections, and began to promote his own group of talent filled with people of many ethnic origins and backgrounds. It started small but has grown into a wild success.
The Black Theatre Troupe of Upstate NY, led by Jean-Remy, creates pieces that inspire its community to expand its horizons. When there wasn't a place for his people to act in NY, he made a place. To learn more about them visit: https://blacktheatretroupeupstateny.org/
