Salim Khan, owner of The Spice House restaurant in Atlanta, is quick to tell you that he started out in the industry knowing absolutely nothing, and made all sorts of mistakes along the way. Well, that’s not completely true. A background in real estate and a job working as a car valet taught him how to talk to people and the importance of providing good service. But all the important big and little details of operating a restaurant, everything from negotiating with suppliers to keeping good people around, were beyond him, and he didn’t have anyone to go to for advice. So his first food venture failed. Now, Salim Khan wants to provide the support he never had for future entrepreneurs who have a dream of creating their own place plus the drive to make it happen. He’s now offering an online master class called “How to Start a Sold-Out, Niche-Based Restaurant in Any City Market and Dominate the Competition.”
