From Art Teacher to Leading One of the Top Real Estate Sales Teams How did she begin? Having several interesting careers, real estate wasn't an option for Stephanie (well at least she thought it wasn’t). Stephanie received her bachelors in Fine Arts and taught art for years. She is still considered an artist, painter, illustrator and more. After teaching for years, she decided to take on her Masters in Natural Health starting another career completely left from both art and real estate. It wasn't until her husband, Chris Somers, “recruited her”. After traveling so much in her career of health, her husband suggested she become a realtor. He was a realtor for one year prior to suggesting her to change her career, yet again. After observing her husband, Stephanie decided ebing a realtor was actually something she’d love to do. She then pursued it and became a realtor. “If you're really interested in something, leap and it will appear” Stephanie shares. This is when Stephanie’s real estate career took off. Stephanie being a realtor and Chris Somers being a broker helped them create a dynamic team… They then worked together recruiting some friends and started to generate leads. As this was working very well, they hired a marketer and slowly but surely started to set themselves away from the franchise. Stephanie goes into saying the importance of ‘culture’ in a workplace which help set their team, The Somers Team to success. “When you have a team you have to think like a group, it cannot be me me me. Meet with your team and let everyone have a decision making influence” says Stephanie during this interview.
