Mr. James Montague is the quintessential entrepreneur. A native of Southeast Raleigh, he came
from humble beginnings, starting his career as a barber. After he was abruptly forced to vacate
rental space at no fault of his own, he quickly realized that the secret sauce for sustainability
and wealth creation was not in being a tenant, but in being an owner. This lesson planted a
seed of curiosity and a strong desire that nudged him toward real estate development and
ownership.
Fast forward a few decades, Montague’s climb to developer and landlord has placed him at the
helm of F7 International Development and a flourishing real estate business. Never forgetting
his roots and the communities that shaped him, he has an unwavering commitment to utilizing
his resources and influence to create opportunities for underserved, marginalized groups.
