Yi Rong is a food scientist in a local sustainability startup. Her work centres on devising new ways to upcycle surplus produce and the unwanted by-products of food manufacturing. Formerly a microbiologist in an agritech MNC, she was involved in the treatment of slaughterhouse wastewater as well as the development of field-ready test kits for CoVID-19 and African Swine Fever (ASF). Yi Rong graduated from Durham University with a Natural Sciences degree in 2018.
