From Chaos to Clarity: The Epic Restoration of a Disassembled Omega Seamaster

Listen Later

Welcome back to Wristwatch Revival, I’m your host, and today I’ve got a story you won’t believe. A viewer sent me what he called “a fully disassembled Omega watch in a Ziploc bag,” and honestly, when I opened that bag, it looked like every screw and spring had been through a blender. He’d started restoring his Omega Seamaster, but “got in way over his head,” and ended up with more parts than he knew what to do with.

So we went to work. First, we carefully documented every component, from the winding stem to the tiniest balance staff. Then I cleaned each piece in our ultrasonic bath, removing decades of grit and oil. When it was time to reassemble, we literally rebuilt the movement step by step, checking for wear and replacing worn jewels. After reattaching the dial and hands, we re-cased the movement and pressure-tested the watch to make sure it stays water-resistant.

By the end, this once-scattered pile of parts transformed into a perfectly ticking Omega Seamaster. That’s another rescue in the books, right here on Wristwatch Revival. Thanks for listening, and I’ll see you next time.
