From Classroom to Leadership: Stories of PennWest Educators

Keeping with the theme that the Power of PennWest is in its people, we’re proud to welcome representatives from three distinct demographics from the institution – a student, an employee and an alumna. This trio of outstanding individuals will discuss the life of an educator – what it’s like training to become a teacher, how to work with college students who are preparing to become teachers, and how a teacher becomes an administrator.

Chloe McMullen, a middle-level education major from the Edinboro campus, talks about her experience in the classroom and how she advocates for student-teachers. Dr. Erin Lewis, the field services coordinator at the Clarion, outlines her role in placing PennWest students in pre-professional experiences. And Natalie Herath, principal at Northwestern High School, shares her evolution from a classroom teacher to a school administrator.
