This is The Do It For Yourself Podcast.  Each week I sit down with someone who is doing it for themselves and chasing a dream they just couldn’t suppress.  This is often speakers, entrepreneurs, or athletes.  They all share one thing in common, they are overcoming challenges and never giving up.  Someone who is Doing It For Themselves is not selfish in their pursuit, they are simply chasing a dream or working towards a goal because it is something THEY want to do.  They are not forging down a path because society or someone is telling them it’s what they should be doing.

 

This week I had the privilege to sit down with Zach and James Wilson of WayVine.  These two brothers started their vineyard from the ground up.  It all started as a passion project when Zach ordered some vines to plant on his families farmland.  He ordered way more than anyone ever imagined and he remembers promising his dad to have them all in the ground before the weekend and that they would still be able to go golfing.  

 

Those vines were all planted in more than enough time but they were far too exhausted to go golfing that Sunday.  This work ethic has never left the two brothers that now run the winery.  They are out there 7 days a week, 11 months out of the year taking care of their vines.  When they aren't out in the vineyard they are producing some world-class wines from the barn that has now been transformed into their production and bottling area.  

 

It was such an honor to sit down with two people who are so passionate about their craft and I really enjoyed my time on the property with James and Zach.
