Today I had the honor of speaking with John Cohen, cofounder of Toro Real Estate Partners, a multifamily investment company that started in 2015 and has since scaled to $250M AUM and 2700 units.
In this episode, John shares his story of flipping distressed properties at tax auctions for sometimes $500 a house and he took that experience and rolled it into syndicating and flipping distressed multifamily that he likes to say were a D- and no cap properties into profitable cash flowing assets. John also gives great advice for capital raising and working with investors.
