From NAR to Christ

From Guilt to Grace, Finding Freedom in Christ after the NAR

Listen Later

Many who leave the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) or similar false movements continue to wrestle with lingering guilt, false shame, and a performance-based mindset. In this NAR to Christ episode, Dave Jenkins and Dawn Hill discuss how guilt and condemnation began in Genesis 3, why the gospel alone offers true freedom, and how believers can walk in grace and assurance through Christ. Together, they explore the difference between conviction and condemnation, the dangers of legalism, and the joy of resting in the sufficiency of Christ's finished work. They also emphasize the importance of biblical literacy, faithful expository preaching, and life in the local church as the means through which God strengthens and frees His people. Main Points: 1. Where guilt began in the Garden (Genesis 3; Romans 5:12–19) 2. Understanding conviction vs. condemnation (Romans 8:1) 3. Escaping the "do more" performance trap of false religion 4. True repentance and assurance in Christ (Psalm 51; 1 John 1:9) 5. Freedom through the Spirit, not the flesh (Galatians 5:16–26) 6. Why biblical literacy and sound preaching bring lasting hope Encouragement: If you've come out of the NAR, New Age, or other legalistic systems, remember: in Christ there is no condemnation (Romans 8:1). You are forgiven, justified, and free to walk in His grace and truth.
