From Recycle to Remarkable: The Art of Collectible Phones

Listen Later

Welcome back to Tech Tidbits. Today we’re diving into a fresh project from leaker Sonny Dickson called Collectible Phones. He’s rescuing out-of-commission iPhones from recycling facilities and turning them into wall art. As the site explains, “only the best components are picked, carefully glued to a backboard, and then placed in a high-quality frame.” Each piece is meticulously labeled, so you’ll see specs for the display, logic board, battery, and more—plus launch dates and other trivia.

The debut offering is the $349 Collectible 2G, featuring Apple’s original 2007 iPhone. It even includes an authentic screenshot of the first iOS Home screen. Frames come in black or silver, measure 30 by 42.3 centimeters, and ship free worldwide. And if you love looking back at tech history, Dickson plans to add more devices soon. That’s it for today—thanks for listening to Tech Tidbits!
