In 1904, the strategic landscape of East Asia changed as the Japanese launched a surprise attack at Port Arthur, disabling seven Russian warships.Marvel at the formation of one of America's most notable youth organizations, the Boy Scouts of America, incorporated on this day in 1910. Yet, the reality of crime and punishment took a dark turn in 1924, when the gas chamber was first utilized to execute a murderer.Continuing in this historic journey, revisit 1952, where Elizabeth ascended England's throne following the death of her father, King George VI. Fast forward to 1990, where popular culture television CBS temporarily suspended Andy Rooney due to his offensive remarks.As we remember these momentous occasions, let's celebrate the lighter side of life.
