Meesha Wittkopf is the Rural Coordinator for the Yukon Food Security Network and founder of the Youth Coalition 4 Food Security North, a pan-northern initiative led by youth to advance food sovereignty across Northern Canada. She began the Beaver Creek Food Sovereignty Project in 2023, working closely with White River First Nation, elders, and local mentors to address how climate change affects health and food access in remote communities. Meesha champions community-led, sustainable food systems rooted in dignity, resilience, and rural innovation. Her work celebrates the power of youth leadership and the importance of supporting northern voices in building equitable food futures.
