As You Go

From the Archives: Ep 44 - Church History 1: We Didn't Start the Fire

Listen Later

A special "From the Archives" episode made available to listeners old and new for a limited time.
If you've ever wondered what happened after the events chronicled in the New Testament, this is an episode worth checking out!
This is the first installment in our occasional and ongoing suite of episodes on Church History. And this is the conversation that started us off, examining the Christian Church from its inaugural moments at Pentecost in the early 1st Century and following its growth and development up to the rise of a guy named Constantine in the early 4th Century, who would go on to change the way the known world viewed Christianity.
If you are new to the podcast, then you'll want to listen to this episode (as well as Church History 2, which is being released in tandem with this one) so you're prepared for future installments, because, yes, from time to time we're going to keep tacking on new episodes in this mini-series as schedules and brain capacity allow.
This episodes features Bo sitting down with our resident Church History expert, Allen Taliaferro, who provides a clear and insightful recap of the important periods and defining moments of the Christian Church. But Allen is more than a flesh computer who can spit out the exact date of any historical event. He is also a pastor who has a wonderful way of communicating the spiritual and social lessons underscoring all that has unfolded in the Church throughout the centuries.
