In this episode, LaTecia sits down with Backstage Capital's Arlan Hamilton to discuss her book, "It's About Damn Time". The women explore themes creators should be focused on during this time of uncertainty and how they can utilize principles from Hamilton's book to get through any obstacle.
Arlan Hamilton’s name is synonymous with success. In 2015, while homeless, she launched her venture capital fund, Backstage Capital. Built from the ground up, Backstage has raised more than $7 Million Dollars and invested in over 130 companies led by high-potential founders who are people of color, women, and/or LGBT.
In 2018, Arlan Co-founded Backstage Studio, launching 4 accelerator programs for underestimated founders in Detroit, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and London; and in the same year, was featured as the first woman of color to be profiled on the cover of Fast Company. Now, she’s adding even more highlights to her career by becoming an author.
