Amari Randall is a collegiate rower who began her journey as a walk-on at Clemson University after winning a high school state championship as a swimmer. Coming from a family of champions, she followed in the footsteps of her father and grandfather, both of whom made history at her high school with state titles. As one of the few Black women in rowing, Amari has faced unique challenges that have shaped her perspective on inclusion and representation in the sport. She channeled her experiences into founding BRAID (Black Rowers Amplifying Inclusion and Diversity), a nonprofit dedicated to creating more inclusive spaces for Black rowers. Now continuing her rowing career at the University of Delaware, Amari has set her sights on excelling in the sport and ultimately competing in the Olympics.
