As of early February, the Ford Motor Company disclosed during an earning call with analysts that it would be developing a rival to the lower (budget) priced Tesla Model 2. Since then, Tesla has announced that they are "shelving" plans to build the car. As of this podcast, there has been no response from Ford with regards to the low priced EV project.
