Ana Bermudez is the CEO of TAGit, the mobile app that TV viewers use to buy items from their favorite TV shows. TAGit is a tech platform where TV, entertainment, retail, and commerce converge to monetize media, ads, and product placement. Her success has been recognized by Jessica Alba of The Honest Company and The Eva Longoria Foundation.
Ana is passionate about promoting STEM and higher education in underserved and underrepresented communities. She currently serves as Program Director of Hera Angels and recently served as Chairman of the Alumni Council for the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative and as an advisor to the University of Notre Dame's Advisory Council in the Institute for Latino Studies.
A few topics Ana discusses:
1. How the AVID program helped her get an internship at Merrill Lynch while in high school which eventually turned into a full-time job after completing her junior year of college
2. Differences between Economics and Finance college majors
3. Challenges she overcame as the first generation in her family to grow up in the U.S. and, not only attend college, but pursue higher education at a college that is 3 flight-hours-away from her family. (Ana relocated from San Diego, CA to attend the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN.)
4. How being so far away while her family went through a difficult time financially incited feelings of guilt and mental health issues that nearly convinced her to drop out of college
