Behind the Faith

From Where She Stands - Part 2

Listen Later

An emotional conversation with a wise Acadia First Nations woman who has done the long and difficult work of working through trauma  - we get to benefit from her bravery of sharing her stories and questions.

In today's episode Marilyn shares her schooling experience in the public system as an indigenous child.  She shares her journey through trauma and learning about the difficult layers of intergenerational trauma.

Marilyn gives some suggestions on how churches could respond to these tragic discoveries - a call to lament, grieve and wait to see what God wants to teach us.

Things to check out after the podcast!

Listen to today's message from @DanielleStrickland!  A great example of church leaders responding by recommending we need to grieve and lament.

My most recent painting -
"Strength of Roots"
Dedicated to those who survived Residential School and to those who were lost during those years.  I see you little ones and will try to move forward in truth and reconciliation.  You can see this painting in person in Elmira, Ontario!  I would love for you to visit - take a selfie and tag someone who needs to be reminded of the strength of their roots!
