For those of you who do not know “We the People” have 3 branches of Government. 1. Legislative which is composed of the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate. 2. Executive branch composed of the Presidency and Vice-Presidency. 3. Judicial composed of the Supreme Court and it's nine Justices.

This lesson that should be taught in most high school, and for that matter elementary civics and history classes, has been working over 200 years and was the design of our founding fathers.

As we approach the week of Thanksgiving I would like to remind everyone of things we should be thankful for. First, let us as American's be thankful for the freedom that we have in this country. While we bicker and fight over policies by elected officials it is important to take time to be thankful for those who have sacrificed for us to be free. Secondly, we should be thankful for the ability to live in a mostly safe country. Again, this safety is not possible by the men and women who "stand" in the front lines every day to make sure we keep our freedom. Thirdly, and this is more personal, but I feel we should be thankful for the freedom to worship God. Faith has always been an integral part of our country's destiny, and I for one am thankful for His blessings on our country. Now let us get to the issues for this week and the upcoming week.

A call for Amnesty for all illegals, no deportation, and no immigration caps.

We hope you had a wonderful Veterans Day. While we celebrate those who fought for not only our freedom but also the liberation of other countries, we get lectured by a weak, Socialist from France about how dangerous we are to be pro-America. This coupled with the fact that we are finding that the state of Florida is still not declaring a winner in two of it’s larger races. We have anticipated a recount, and now we have it. We are awaiting this recount to declare a winner, while we learn in the process that ballots have been discovered in various location, and the Broward County Supervisor of Elections is playing hardball.

What a busy week we have had. Just when we thought we can put the mid-terms behind us and breath for a moment, there goes the state of Flordia and Arizona. New terms have entered into our vocabulary like gerrymandering, provisional ballot, and revocation of White House press pass. As we venture into this week of politics, let us reflect for a moment on a few of my favorite topics.

The 2018 mid-term election is over, and now we can start to get back to American unity, or more likely see a start to the 2020 Presidential Race. As we see the end of the mid-terms we are all ready for a break from the campaigning. However, we are already seeing a beginning to the 2020 Presidential race. Take a listen to this week's podcast to gain insight on to how to return to normal conversations with your friends and families.

Just some quick numberial facts for your educational purposes. The most House seats ever lost by a president's party in a mid-term election was in 2010 when President Obama lost 63 seats. Following this was President Clinton in 1994 losing 52. To draw a comparison, the 2018 mid-terms saw President Trump losing 26 to 27 seats. There are those who feel America has regretted electing President Trump, however, as the saying goes, the numbers do not lie.

Americans are just 3 days away from the mid-term elections where our country will have some very decisions to make. As we approach those mid-terms, we at the front porch, want to give you as much information possible to help guide you in the decisions you have as you pick the candidates that you vote for.
