The trails in and around Lake Placid and Keene are crowded with hikers again this summer. There are some congestion problems - with parking, for instance and some confusion. The state has now banned parking on the shoulder of Route 73 between Keene Valley and Chapel Pond, except for the designated parking spots. Signs are up; the penalty is a $250 ticket.
