Fuimaono Karl Pulotu-Endemann trained as a psychiatric nurse. He has advocated for and represented Pacific people at governance level nationally and locally to bring Pacific perspectives into  the decision making arena. Among his many contributions, Fuimaono Karl developed the Fonofale model of Pacific mental health which has been accepted by the Mental Health Commission of New Zealand.
