Radio is a fabulous medium: it’s dynamic, alive, and multi-layered. Another part of the beauty of radio is that it gives you access to information through the airwaves, even if you can’t read. However, literacy opens many doors, and without it the world can be hard to navigate. This Friday on Full Circle, we tackle literacy and education.
We explore the Books for Prisoners program, comment on the exhaultation of ignorance, review last year’s read-in to save a library in Salinas, look at the children’s book project, and join Franklin on a field trip to his local library. We inform you, entertain you, and let you know what YOU can do to help combat illiteracy and bring the beauty of words to everyone.
