During Native American Heritage Month, “Thanksgiving” can be a reminder of the genocide, kidnapping, rape and torture that indigenous peoples endured post-contact with European invaders.   

Many think there should be a re-examination of American History & the narrative of the Pilgrims at Plymouth Rock.    However, many view the holiday an an opportunity to gather as family, and give honor to indigenous traditions.
