Chapter 1:

-Imagine if you were in the middle of an interview and you had to ask the question “Have you been drinking?”.  That’s what one television host had to ask of a former Trump aide during a bizarre interview yesterday.

Chapter 2:

-You probably have heard of the Phoenix Pay system that the government introduced in order to pay all the government employees.  Now the government is walking away from the system in order to find a new solution after the Phoenix system hasn’t worked out. This after already sinking $1Billion into the Phoenix system.  Is this the best use of taxpayer money?

Chapter 3:

-Imagine if you were in the middle of an interview and you had to ask the question “Have you been drinking?”.  That’s what one television host had to ask of a former Trump aide during a bizarre interview yesterday. Sam Nunberg conducted six interviews in four hours yesterday.  With CNN’s Erin Burnett, he shoots his mouth off about Trump press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, while Erin asks him if he’s drunk.

Chapter 4:

-The City of North Vancouver is rejecting a motion to ban smoking in public areas.  City staff had already recommended that council deny the blanket restriction. The motion came forward after residents wanted to see smoking banned on West 1st Ave.  Mayor Darrell Mussatto says bylaw officers wouldn’t be able to identify anyone to ticket, so when the city spoke with RCMP, they said it wouldn’t be a high priority for officers.

Chapter 5:

-There were proposed ICBC insurance changes outlined yesterday by Attorney-General David Eby. The government is proposing a major overhaul of how insurance rates are calculated and applied.  The Province newspaper's Michael Smyth is here with his take on the day's headlines.

Chapter 6:

-If you always wanted to go to Disneyland but never could afford it...just sit the family down in front of the computer instead! Now you can pretend that you’re in Disneyland with Google Maps.

Chapter 7:

-The B.C. government is looking at changes to the length of time it will take drivers to retrieve their ICBC discounts, as well as the driver-based model of insurance and the rules around free at-fault crashes. It’s a suite of reforms being considered as part of a sweeping public consultation process that the province launched on Monday.

Chapter 8:

-Last week we told you the story of how a group of high school students in Merritt were turned down by city council when they requested to paint a rainbow crosswalk. That story struck a chord with Jon McComb Show listener Brad Dirks. He is the father of a transgender son and an LGBTQ activist in Langley. Just last week, he successfully petitioned to expand the Safe Spaces program to Langley and his hoping it will grow into other cities as well.   Joining him is Stacey Wakelin - she formed the group Families for Inclusivity.

Chapter 9:
-Canadian astronaut David Saint Jacques will blast off for space in November, flying to the International Space Station. During his six month assignment, he will conduct a series of scientific experiments, robotics tasks and test new technologies. He’s the first Canadian to blast into space since Commander Chris Hadfield in 2013. How does one prepare for such a journey?

Chapter 10:

-Xi Jinping looks likely to be China’s president for life. Normally, Chinese leaders are limited to two five year terms. But Xi is in the process of lobbying for no limit terms; a power grab which could see him lead China for the rest of his life. Should the West be concerned?

Chapter 11:

-“No exemptions!” Trump said Sunday about who’d be hit with new tariffs on steel imports.  But now, Steve Mnuchin says the US doesn’t want to get into a trade war, and has said the tariffs won’t apply to Canada.  He told a house of representatives subcommittee that Canada and Mexico will be exempt.
