Chapter 1:

-Amazon says it’s an "unlikely'' event that prompted its Echo device to record a Portland, Oregon, family's private conversation and then send the recording to an acquaintance in Seattle.  What are you doing to us Alexa?!

Chapter 2:

-A woman in Portland got a phone call from a contact in Seattle who told her “shut off your Alexa right now!” The device had recorded a private conversation between the woman and her husband and sent it to a random contact. Danielle says she used to joke about the devices eavesdropping, but not anymore, because she’s unplugged them all.

Chapter 3:

-Today, Ireland is going to the polls to vote on whether or not to repeal the country's constitutional ban on abortion, which was introduced in 1983.

Chapter 4:

-The topic today is healthcare and an announcement from the government to fund urgent primary care.  The Vancouver Sun's Vaughn Palmer is here with his take on the day's headlines.

Chapter 5:

-Harvey Weinstein, The disgraced Hollywood producer, walked into a police station in New York where he surrendered himself to face criminal charges in relation to a sexual assault investigation.

Chapter 6:

-The final report on mobility pricing in Metro Vancouver was presented to the TransLink Mayors’ Council and board of directors on Thursday but it could be another two to five years before anything is implemented.

Chapter 7:

-The $1.5 billion takeover of the construction firm Aecon was blocked by the Trudeau government this week - who cited national security concerns. Experts had warned the Trudeau government to proceed cautiously when weighing up any desire by Chinese state owned companies to takeover domestic assets.

Chapter 8:

-Over the years, the letters of presidents have been studied for their content; often they offer up some sort of insight into what goes on in a leader’s head. But there was a certain ‘Trumpian’ quality to the letter Donald Trump sent Kim Jong Un - cancelling the much anticipated summit in Singapore on June 12.

Chapter 9:

-Things are feeling optimistic at the BC Lions training camp as the players are focusing on getting ready for Wally Buono’s final season with the team.

Chapter 10:

-Transparency International has found Canada lags far behind and has a “weak” beneficial ownership transparency framework which helps anonymous shell companies facilitate corruption and financial crime.

Chapter 11:

-Harvey Weinstein has been formally charged with rape.  The Hollywood producer handed himself in to a New York police station, where he was formally charged with rape and a criminal sex act in relation to encounters with two women.

Chapter 12:
