Award winning journalist and veteran broadcaster, Dolly McCarthy, is currently a traffic reporter for Radiate Media in Chicago. Dolly is also the creator, Executive Producer and Host of The Dolly McCarthy Show on Blog Talk Radio, Slam Internet Radio, and 89.9 FM in Chicago (and soon to be on WCKG 1530 AM). Prior to that, Dolly was an anchor for the Tribune Company’s CLTV News. She also worked as a reporter and news anchor for both ABC and Fox affiliates in Rockford at WTVO & WIFR, and as the solo anchor for NCTV17‘s popular and award-winning news program, Naperville News 17. It was there where Dolly became an instant favorite and trusted journalist in Chicagoland. Dolly began her career after graduating from Northern Illinois University, at WCIU in Chicago. She anchored, produced and wrote for WCIU’s daily 7-hour business news program, The Stock Market Observer. The Chicago native has more than 20 years of broadcast experience in radio, TV and cable. Her experience in reporting and anchoring, combined with her strong roots in Chicago (she’s a northwest sider; one of 14 kids) and Naperville have made her one of the area’s most well-liked and sought after personalities. Dolly has received numerous awards and recognitions. She is most proud of being recognized by her high school alma mater as 2014’s Most Distinguished Alum, and for being recognized as the 2013 Woman of The Year by the AAUW. In March of 2014, Naperville Mayor George Pradel declared March 21st, “Dolly McCarthy Day” and in true Dolly fashion, she turned that day into a day of giving back. A charity fundraiser was held to raise funds to support not- for-profits: Operation Support Our Troops, Naperville Cares, Kidz Kabaret and Bike Bald. Dolly is actively involved in many charitable organizations and not-for-profits including Operation Support Our Troops, DuPage P.A.D.S., along with MANY other projects!!!
