Episode 11: Pleasure-Centered Living founded by Rachael Haley
What if pleasure wasn’t something you had to earn, chase, or save for when everything in your life finally feels “right”?
In this episode, I’m joined by my beautiful friend Rachael Haley for a conversation about pleasure-centered living, which is more than just her brand, it's a way of life. One that is not as hedonism, toxic positivity, or avoiding the hard parts of being human, but as a way of becoming more deeply attuned to your body, your desires, and your aliveness.
We talk about expanding our capacity to hold pleasure AND pain, learning to meet grief and discomfort without abandoning joy, why pleasure can initially feel uncomfortable or even unsafe, and what it looks like to stop making your entire life another healing project.
We also explore pleasure as a daily practice: movement, rest, sensuality, play, platonic intimacy, our menstrual cycles, the tiny moments we usually rush past, and the simple question that can begin changing the way you experience your life:
What would feel pleasurable for me right now?
Because pleasure doesn’t have to be another thing you achieve.
You don’t need to heal enough, accomplish enough, look a certain way, or finally become some “better” version of yourself before you’re allowed to experience it.
There is nothing you need to change about yourself to be worthy of pleasure. And you do not need to earn it.
