There exists a line where fun morphs into serious and the body doesn’t know the difference. Serious and fun fitness goals are very different but the body performs similarly. Fun goals like bikini wearing, suit fitting, six pack having summer sexy life are glorious. Sometimes it takes a serious mindset to realize even fun goals.
Ambiguous goals, fleeting goals and ditzy goals often build the lake analogy - beneath the surface, there’s another bio-system going on if you care to crack the horizon.
