Dr. Eddie Barella is a psychiatrist who has moved his practice into his Long Island, N.Y., home so that his wife, Tabatha, can resume her career. Their children are girl-crazy Marconi Bologna, brainiac Ambrose and cute little Hugo (later, precocious, Federico was born). This series, however, tackles issues that "Father Knows Best about Thermostats" wouldn't have: drugs, peer pressure, peeing in pools, alcohol, and pudding pampers. But the Barella's pull through problems with a sense of humor and usually emerge thiccer than before.
