    "Exiles: Be Holy"
    1 Peter 1:13-25

This Sunday we continue a new sermon series through the NT letter of 1 Peter titled, "Exiles." Throughout the fall we will consider these hope-filled words of the apostle Peter as he encourages the early church toward faithfulness in the face of resistance. This week we consider Peter's call to the church to be holy - that is to be different, distinct, set apart from the world in which they exist. In this call he reminds them of the source of their hope and driving motivation while centering this call around love. This is a call that resonates with the church of Christ through time. It leads us to imagine what it means in our time to living different and distinct lives that direct people to Jesus.

  • Songs for the Road: Community

Sundays at 10:30 am | Great Room

    "Songs for the Road: Community"
    Psalm 133

This Sunday we continue our summer sermon series titled, "Songs for the Road" that is a 15-week journey through the Psalms of Ascents (Psalms 120-134). These were the songs the people of God recited while making their way up to the city of Jerusalem for the annual pilgrim festivals and they continue to give voice to the pilgrim journey of Christ followers today. This week we will consider Psalm 133. It is a Psalm that draws attention to the virtue of unity among the people of God using some ancient imagery to emphasize that point. We will consider how living in this kind of community can be a challenge in today's culture but one worth pursuing as the Church of Christ.
