John’s the third interview that’s come out of the college soccer/MLS vs USL doubleheader in mid-February here in Santa Barbara (by the way, the other two aren’t bad either- Tomas Hilliard-Arce and Chris Pontius of the LA Galaxy, go back and listen to them). He’s someone who I first reached out to because I admired how keeps it real about American soccer over on the 3four3 podcast, but this conversation, though admittedly very loosely structured, is already one of my favorites because it’s about that and so much more- life, podcasting, beer, and how to be close to somebody and still butcher their name every time you see them.
