Last week was a great triumph for South Africa as the  Marine Domain Awareness Satellites, which were developed by engineers at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology -- have already started transmitting data - after they were launched aboard US aerospace company SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket. One of the things Science and Innovation Minister Dr Blade Nzimande said that the lack of space professionals and engineers had prompted the department to launch a human capital development programme at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
