Work Experience can be never hard to show when you are new to the co-op program or internships in general. Besides your extra-curricular involvements, there's two other ways you can show REAL World experience. 

Case Competitions & Hackathons can do wonders to your work experience by showing recruiters something tangible that you created / solved / accomplished.
