Main point of Galatians 3 is 

• Salvation is by faith/trust/belief in God’s Promise. 

• Salvation is not by the Law. Salvation is not by earning righteousness for ourselves.

• Salvation for all time has only been by faith, by trusting, by believing in God’s promise.

  What is the Gospel? Good News

  Salvation from eternal punishment/Hell/wrath is divided in three parts:

  1. Justification-Past tense:We have been saved: Separation from the penalty of sin 

  1. New Spiritual Birth-Holy Spirit

  2. Sanctification-Present-We are being saved: Separation from the power of sin 

  1. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, incrementally (Galatians 5, 6, Romans 6)

  3. Glorification-Future-We shall be saved: Separation from the presence of sin 

  1. Resurrection/sinless body/ “the redemption of our body” (Rom 8:23)
