Paul has been waging war against the false teachers who brought false gospel into the church. Paul reminds us of the threat of false teachers. They always trouble the saints and undermine the gospel witness of the church. This is a relevant text for the church today. If a man is charismatic, if his message seems culturally “relevant”, and sounds Biblical, most people will be happy to receive it. Christ crucified is the essence of the gospel. This is the power of God unto salvation.  This is our hope. This is our life. This is our peace.
