Galatians 1:1-1:24

In this first lesson, we examine how Paul wrote Galatians to warn the Galatian churches not to count on law-keeping for their salvation.

In the first chapter of Galatians, Paul greets the churches in Galatia, expresses his exasperation that the churches are forsaking the Gospel, and then Paul begins to recount part of his testimony in order to establish his apostleship and knowledge of the Gospel.

One emphasis of this lesson is the seriousness of abandoning the Gospel.

Another major idea explored is that by examining the way Paul establishes his credibility, we can learn how to establish our credibility as Christians.
