In this lesson, Paul uses his conversation with Peter as a springboard to begin unpacking the theological truths of the Gospel exposing the errors of the Judaizer movement that insisted Christians must follow the Mosaic Law to be saved.
In this passage, Paul argues that justification comes by faith, that the Galatian church had been blessed by God through faith rather than works of the law, and that the Old Testament scriptures taught that righteousness came by faith.
A couple of points of emphasis include the importance of faith in a Christian’s life not just for justification but for all aspects of Christianity and the importance of understanding the Old Testament/Old Covenant as it relates to these issues.
