Matt Dinniman returns to the show to talk about his upcoming novel, Operation Bounce House. The book marks a shift from the over-the-top humor of the Dungeon Crawler Carl series into darker, more grounded themes, ironically, explored on a remote space colony.

The story follows what happens when a group of gamers invade believing they’re playing a game, while for the colonists it’s terrifyingly real.

In our conversation, Matt digs into very earthbound issues: the power of generative AI, corporations exerting control over our everyday lives, and how difficult it’s become to separate fact from fiction in the fog of war.
