Psalms 34:18

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those

whose spirits are crushed.

Psalms 51:17-18

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God,

thou wilt not despise. 18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build

thou the walls of Jerusalem.

Philippians 4:11-13

I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things am

instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things

through Christ which strengtheneth me.
