Don’t get too excited, we’re not bringing this thing back. 2018 was a more solid year for games than we thought, so Jason and John decided give the nod to some honorable mentions before we run down our five favorite games of the year.

Well, we finally made it to episode 100! To help celebrate (?), Jason Arriola and Vanessa Cahill talk about the site and podcast’s past and present. Then, we’re joined by John Lucero to talk about his history with us. As a bit of a weird way to celebrate, we’ve decided to retire this iteration of the podcast. We’ve got something else that’s more easy to keep up with on our end, so listen in and see what the future holds! And, like all the greats, we’re leaving the retirement a bit open, so if there’s anything we feel we want to talk about that won’t fit in our other podcasts, this will be the place for it!
Hey, did you this, along with all of our other podcasts, have their own feed? Well, you do now! And you can subscribe to that feed on Apple Podcasts if that’s your thing. Why not leave a review while you’re there?
And on a more serious note, I want to thank everyone that’s ever worked on this particular podcast in its many iterations with me. So, thanks to Graig Garman, Ariel Apodaca, Vanessa Cahill, Scott Romero, Franky Ordaz, Executive Producer Anthony Gore, Ashley Sanchez, Luke Maxwell, Anthony Villanueva, Ben Alston, Conor Mahood, Brittany Beshel, John Lucero, Richard Balmer, Tyler Mire, Josie “Visager” Brechner, and JoeStar. It’s been a long road getting here, but none of this would have been possible if it wasn’t for them taking time to talk with me about these damn video games we all love so dearly. And, most importantly, thank you for listening! I’m amazed at how many of you actually listen to this thing no matter how sporadic the releases have been. I hope you’ll stick with us and check out the other podcasts we’ve got lined up for you. I’m excited about them, and I think you will be as well (please clap).

We ingested quite a bit of Roger Rabbit for this podcast. While the Roger Rabbit movie is perfectly okay, the games are another story. It goes beyond the infamous NES one, as there were a total of four Roger Rabbit games. Yeah, that was news to me as well.
A big thanks to the Tardy to the Party podcast for not only inspiring this one, but also being able to get Bill Mudron’s insight on animation was a huge help!

We leaned pretty heavy on the “and Junk” part of our name this. We barely talked about video games for the first hour and instead decided talking about cartoons from the early 90’s and a bunch of other stuff I can barely remember. We also decided we’re going to watch Who Framed Roger Rabbit for our next episode. Have any thoughts about it or anything else you’d like to share? Email us at [email protected]
We also sort of talked about E3 for like an hour because we know you come here for the hard-hitting news from a month ago.

(I couldn’t figure out who composed the two Alpha 3 tracks, so I just listed everyone who worked on its soundtrack. Better than not crediting them at all!)
Jason and John follow up on the Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII talk by giving the Battlefield V reveal its due. Jason played a Western game that John hasn’t and has been digging into something aimed right at his Castlevania III heartstrings. John’s worked his way out of Lordran to find himself in Detroit and it doesn’t sound like he’s better off for it.

This week, Jason Arriola, John Lucero, and Franky Ordaz decide Mario might be an asshole, Far Cry 5 is a far cry from great, and Attack on Titan might not have the strongest story, characters, or writing, but it’s still fun.
SPOILER ALERT! John spoils the hell out of the end of Far Cry 5, so if you don’t want the ending spoiled, check out at 42:05 and come back at 49:35.

We’re taking a look back at the little Nintendo console that just couldn’t. In the first segment, Jason Arriola is joined by Vanessa Cahill and Franky Ordaz to talk about the development history of the Wii U, some of our favorite things about it, and some of the things we wish it did better (or at all). Then in the second segment, Jason is joined by JoeStar to get his thoughts on the Wii U.
In a surprising turn of events, we all come to the conclusion that the Wii U wasn’t actually a bad system at all! So much so that Vanessa started a list of games to buy for it and try out as soon as we wrapped up!
