Rick Bennett is currently the head coach of the Union Dutchmen ice hockey team at Union College. He has led the Dutchmen to three ECAC Hockey regular season titles, three ECAC Hockey tournament titles, four NCAA Tournament appearances , two Frozen Fours and one NCAA championship title against Minnesota. Bennett won ECAC Hockey's Tim Taylor Award for conference coach of the year twice and won the American Hockey Coaches Association's Spencer Penrose Award for NCAA Division I coach of the year in 2014.
Bennett played at Providence College, where he was recognised as a Hobey Baker finalist in 1990 and two-time winner of the Lou Lamoriello Trophy as team MVP.
Bennett was a third-round draft pick of the Minnesota North Stars and later played in the NHL for the New York Rangers.
