今天要学的习语是: all ears
如果不是“全是耳朵”的意思,那到底是什么意思呢?来听听Chris and Joy的讲解吧!
J: Hi guys I’m Joy.
C: And I’m Chris. Today we are gonna be talking about the idiom: all ears. It’s usually used like:
I am all ears. / We are all ears. / She was all ears.
J: It means to pay full attention to something. Maybe your boss is trying to tell you about the new project. Or your mom is telling you about the recent family gossip. Or your girlfriend is talking about the type of food she really likes. You should probably say: Sure I’m all ears. Here’s an example:
-Hey Jennifer. You are in charge of our new project next month. I gotta go through some details with you.
-OK, sure no problem. I’m all ears.
C: Alrighty. Did you get that? Were you guys all ears?
J: If you are looking for private English classes, feel free to contact us! Talk to you next time! Bye!
