The Hippo Jets Podcast - with Jon & Al

Jon and Al are back to celebrate a big Jets win over the Browns!

The lads reflect on another busy night at the Hippodrome, featuring some premature J-E-T-S chants from Steve and a guest appearance from Fraser of GGUK fame.

There are new additions to both the bus stop and the bus itself, while a new Jets hero emerges from the depths of Jon’s betting corner in the unlikely shape of Texans running back Woody Marks.

The HippoJets Holland Tour is officially booked, but there’s still time to join us in November for the launch of our new location. Come and be part of it, or spend the rest of your life wondering what you missed out on!

Jon and Al start making room on the 2029 Super Bowl Bus for some new blood, following a couple of disappointing weeks from the current passengers.

Meanwhile, the countdown to the 2026 Hippos on Tour trip to Holland gathers pace, with the date now officially confirmed.

And after a perfect 5-0 week in Betting Corner, Jon looks to build on his success by laying up a few more bets for the listeners.

The lads are back to recap a fantastic turnout at the Hippodrome for Sunday’s clash with the Lions, despite the result not quite going our way. We look back at the big moments from the game, the atmosphere in Leicester Square and another brilliant night with the Jets faithful.

Then it’s time to turn our attention to Chicago, as we preview another big one against the Bears this Sunday. Who needs to step up, what are we expecting from the Jets and can we finally get ourselves back in the win column?

We also tackle the age-old question: which of our listeners is most likely to pick up the phone and dial 1-800-HIPPO-JETS? And, finally, we venture deep into the murky, swampy depths of Jon’s Betting Corner, where he attempts to bounce back from a difficult week last time out with some rather interesting options. Will Jon have learned his lessons, or are we heading for another trip into the betting wilderness?

Due to not quite as much demand as expected, Alasdair is back alongside Jon to review last Sunday’s incredible Hippodrome turnout and the not-so-incredible ending to the Jets game. The lads also discuss the fabled Jets bus before getting serious in the dark depths of Jon’s mind with another trip to Betting Corner.

Craig, aka the Mad Jetter, was still in Nashville when we recorded this episode, bringing us his tales from the Jets’ Week 1 showdown with the Tennessee Titans. Back in London, John watched the action at the official New York Jets Touchdown Tailgate at London Bridge, where he also met plenty of new faces from the Gang Green family. We share some of those stories before turning our attention to Week 2 and the Green Bay Packers, as the Jets headed towards their home opener at MetLife Stadium.

The Hippo Jets are back for the 2026 season!

Well, almost! Jon is holding the fort this time, with Al away in Canada and joining him is Craig, aka The Mad Jetter.

The boys talk about all the latest from the world of Gang Green, our upcoming trips to Tennessee and NYC, and this Sunday’s watch party at London Bridge.

Jon and Al are back with one more pre-draft pod, where they use the Athletic Beast draft profiles to come up with the ideal picks at each point of the Jets’ 2026 draft.

They try to fill needs, take the best players, and there are few special guest appearances from Jon's mini-me, Jack, who makes an excellent mid-round selection for the Jets!

Craig and Al are joined by 2026 International Fan of the Year Anth Cook, just a couple of days before he flies to Pittsburgh to represent the international Jets fan community. Anth plays GM one last time before he walks the walk on draft night itself, while Al and Craig do their best to run interference and make him take a pick he didn't actually want!

Steve Shoes joins the pod with one mission in mind: to put Anth Cook’s fabled Jets Lens through the draft process.

Expect a few surprises along the way, as Steve throws out some intriguing selections that could reflect what the Jets brass might do, or perhaps should do, on draft night.

If you’re a fan of Anth’s Jets Lens series, this is an episode you won’t want to miss.

The Hippo Jets return with their first pre-draft episode of 2026.

Jon and Al are joined by Warren Thomas — a lifelong Jets fan, marathon runner, and a driving force in the UK Jets community, known for his incredible charity efforts as much as his passion for the team.

Warren steps into the GM role for a live mock draft, with Jon and Al doing their best to disrupt proceedings from inside his “war room”.
