Garnett Silk (born Garnet Damion Smith; April 2, 1966 – December 9, 1994) was a legendary Jamaican reggae musician and Rastafarian. He was widely celebrated for his emotive, powerful, and smooth voice, earning him the nickname "The Reggae Prophet". Silk is credited with helping revive the conscious roots-reggae movement in the early 1990s, steering the genre away from more violent or explicit themes.
