Garnishee Proceedings is the process by which a decree holder is enabled to attach the money of a judgment debtor which is in the hands of a third person (who is called a garnishee). It is anchored by Section 44 of the Civil Procedure Act which allows property of the judgement debtor held in the name of another but on his behalf to be liable for attachment.
