Garo Hills, Himalayas - If We Vanish - Part 1
The Garo Hills are the youngest part of the Himalayas. This close to untouched region of the world sparked interest in Sound Artists, Nikhil Nagaraj, Felix Deufel, and their team to create an interactive 3D re-creation of the most remote parts of India, that one day, may not sound the same due to human interactions and sound pollution. Their project is called "If We Vanish" and aims to show why it is critical to preserve the remaining natural soundscapes and empower us to hear the world's ecosystem differently. On a 40 day expedition through the Himalayas, the team captures 3D recordings of these remote environments to preserve, share and raise awareness of the impacts human generated noise brings. This recording provided by "If We Vanish" is the first of several that will be shared on Ambisonic Spaces.
