The B-17 F Meat Hound and her crew fly a mission to Saint Nazaire May 1, 1943 when tragedy once again strikes the 423rd Grim Reapers Bomb Squadron after a navigational error. The Steele crew watch in horror as close friends are shot down in front of them. When a sister aircraft catches on fire the Meat Hound and the Steele crew fly protective cover doing all they can to help their friends get back to England. The Meat Hound and her crew are then personal witnesses to actions that lead to the first Medal of Honor in the Eastern Theater of Operations. Please join me on this fabulous journey.

Join us for a story that ends with the geneses of a brilliant piece of entertainment history. The Meat Hound is under the command of Robert H. Smith and takes part in a maximum effort mission to Bremen, Germany April 17, 1943. The mission has the most disastrous impact on the 306th Bomb Group 423rd Bomb Squadron which results in them being taken offline through the rest of April 1943. Lt Steele sits this mission out but six regular crew members of the Meat Hound are flying. Back in the United States, one week later, Easter Sunday, April 25, 1943 scores of families were vigilant in prayer, hoping for the slightest pieces of information, while staring at maps of Germany to see where Bremen was located. This mission not only makes military history but it also sets the stage (literally) for entertainment history so please join me in the story of the Whirlwind of Bremen.

April 5, 1943 a Milk Run to Antwerp with a historic first of firsts on the line for the 8th Air Force and the 306th Bomb Group 423rd Bomb Squadron.

April 4, 1943, the Meat Hound and the Steele crew make a trip to the Renault factory in Paris and log one of most iconic bombing results of World War 2. After leaving Paris, the Meat Hound and the 85 aircraft of the 8th Air Force make a dash for the fighter protection in Rouen. An epic air battle ensues and the Meat Hound's Flight Engineer and Top Turret Gunner T/S Leon Bamforth is there to save the day. Join us and connect yourself to history.

March 28, 1943 the Meat Hound makes a "milk run" to Rouen, France with LTs Johnson and Jones as Lt Steele opted out of the hated "milk run." The Meat Hound finds herself in a couple of tight spots with a new crew and they thought they were dead and then this happened.......

Lt Steele and the Meat Hound head for Wilhelmshaven, Germany to try and sink the pocket battleship Admiral Von Scheer. The 423rd and 324th Bomb Squadrons then encounter Luftwaffe Pilot Lt. Heinz Knoke who makes a unique first of its kind attack. Please join us and immerse yourself in the past.

This episode takes us into March 1943 with the 423rd Bomb Squadron of the 306th Bomb Group in Thurleigh, England. This mission goes back in time to build on our story proving a little more history and back story on the airmen and planes that were fighting an epic struggle to save the world. Our story introduces us to new characters and builds on the story of the fabulous Sweet Pea as a surprise twist.

This episode continues to build on the back story of Lt David Steele, his crew, and cohorts in the 306th Bomb Group. Before we get to the Meat Hounds first mission we hear about the rise and fall of Sweet Pea and build on her backstory with a huge twist. We also hear how Steele and Jones are involved in a crash and a mid air collision before taking the Sky Wolf on a tour of Wessex only to abort a mission.

Lt Steele takes Meat Hound on her first combat mission to Amiens, France on March 13, 1943. The mission is plagued by bad weather and poor visibility but the 306th Bomb Group did have a very nice Spitfire escort which helped make the trip a milk run of sorts. Join us on this installment of the Meat Hound series to learn how the pioneers of the 8th Air Force were handling the stresses of war.

Mid February 1943, the 423/306 go back to see an Old Friend in St. Nazaire. The raid once again has a devastating impact on the squadron and has an even closer personal impact on Steele.
