Gatekeeping with Lily Henry

Listen Later

Recording date: 6th June 2020 (recorded remotely during COVID-19 lockdown via Zoom).
This month we chatted with Lily Henry, a neuroscience PhD student based in Singapore, on gatekeeping in its many forms, including racism, in STEM. There's less chat from the three of us this month, as we felt it was important for you hear as much from Lily as possible as she shared her experiences - we learned so much, and we hope you do too.
Visit Communities Inc. (http://communitiesinc.org.uk/) as mentioned by Lily, to learn more about the brilliant work they do to support BME communities and tackle hate crime, as well some excellent resources you can download, including a guide to being an active bystander if you witness a discriminatory incident.
